This is where it gets interesting!

Statue of Rollo in Alesund, Norway.
Some of us can trace our lineage back to Rollo, the Viking, through marriages and assumptions about facts. This is not my research but gleaned from knowledgeable persons and the internet.
Vodden to Rollo
Tracing again from Thomas Vodden and Christian Mules, their son Lawrence, born 1665, had a son, John, born 1694, who married Christian Brinsmead on December 27, 1717. Christian‘s parents were Henry Brinsmead (1642-1700) and Mary Sims (1663-1742), also of St. Giles-in-the-Wood parish.
Henry‘s parents were Robert Brinsmead (c1620-1645) and Christian Chockshead (c1620-1685). From The Visitation of Devon 1620, Christian is the youngest daughter of Anthony Cockshed and Fran (Joan) Westcomb. This visitation was the most reliable source of ancient British genealogy taken by the King’s Heralds. These ancient scrolls and manuscripts are held by The College of Arms, based in London, England. At present, these ancient manuscripts are not digitized.
The Visitation of Devon 1620 for Cocksted takes you back through five generations to William Cockshead, or Coxhead (1483-1528) of Chumleigh, Devon, who married Thomazin Pollard (1499-1544) of Horwood, Devon, daughter of Sir Anthony Pollard (1481-c1550) of Horwood, Devon and Petronella Chudleigh (1483-1552) of Ashton, Devon (more to follow below regarding her ancestry).

Sir Anthony Pollard‘s parents were Richard Pollard Van Waye of Horwood in Devon (1450-1503) and Margaret Cockworthy (b 1455) of Yarncombe, Devon. Continuing back through his mother’s ancestry, here is the progression:
